About Vecta

Vecta is building the financial command centre for people who take their money seriously. We connect banks, brokers, superannuation and cards into one live view, then layer a personal AI agent on top so customers can ask questions, spot anomalies and understand their full picture without hopping between apps.

We are an Australian company (O&C Technology Pty Ltd, trading as VECTA AI) building for CDR Open Banking first, with global expansion planned. The product is read-only by design. We never move money. Security, consent and clear explanations are part of the product, not afterthoughts.

You will join an early team with high ownership. We ship carefully in a regulated space, prefer evidence over slogans, and care about latency, reliability and trust as much as features.

About the role

You will lead design for a dense financial product that must feel calm, modern and trustworthy. That includes the marketing site language, the authenticated app, connection/consent flows and the AI chat experience. You design for clarity with numbers, hierarchy and motion, and you partner tightly with engineering so what ships matches the craft.

Key responsibilities

Own end-to-end UX/UI for core product flows: connect, dashboard, insights and agent chat
Build and maintain a coherent design system aligned with our Aurora Glass visual language
Turn complex financial data into readable layouts without card clutter or noise
Design AI conversation patterns: streaming answers, citations, empty states and errors
Run lightweight research and usability checks; iterate from evidence
Produce high-fidelity specs and prototypes engineers can implement with confidence
Collaborate on marketing and product consistency across light and dark themes
Raise the quality bar on accessibility, responsiveness and micro-interactions

Qualifications

5+ years product design experience for web or mobile apps
Strong portfolio showing complex data products, dashboards or fintech/SaaS work
Expert in Figma (components, variants, design systems) and handoff to engineering
Solid visual design craft: typography, colour, spacing, hierarchy and motion judgment
Experience designing for both marketing surfaces and authenticated product UI
Comfortable collaborating daily with engineers and product managers
Based in Australia or able to work overlapping Australian business hours

Nice to have

Experience designing AI chat or assistant interfaces
Familiarity with front-end constraints (React, Tailwind) and design tokens
Prior work in regulated industries where trust and clarity are critical
